The Inner Workings of a Chibi.
Snippet: In which the Hunters discover what flowers can do

So we just edited the story again and added some stuff, took out some stuff, did some general stuffs, and stuff.  Anyhow, in this snippet, Fagan, Alix, and Katalynne are trying to figure out things about the demons who are now in their basement and several things their old friend, Xaver, left behind before he was killed.

I wanted to post this part because it has a lot of dialogue between the group, so you get a feel for how they are around each other.  That and I really like writing Katalynne, like a lot, she’s like awesome secretary-chan and I love her to pieces.  This piece is pretty plot heavy, as important things are discovered.

So Hunters: Seeking the Storyteller is the joint story my partner and I have been working on since, well… college.  Back then it was a roleplay we’d do with anime and video game characters, then at some point we realized that the likes of Gaara from Naruto wasn’t really Gaara anymore…

And thus, this series was born  :)

Other parts can be read here for those in the mood for urban supernatural full of demons that live in our world.  It takes place in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and actual places in the Twin Cities actually show up (we drive around a lot and map out where places are in the story).

No major warnings for the story, not the first book anyway.  And, of course, it’s just going to be little teasers, no full chapters or anything like that since we are working to get this published.  So far it’s on the, “one publisher is interested and one agent is interested, let’s see how this goes,” stage.  It’s already had some much needed edits thanks to the agent’s suggestions  :)

And reblogging to my normal blog because I can?  YOU SHOULD READ HUNTERS!  Urm… that is the extent of my advertising skills early in the morning…

Check out the Hunters blog where the story bits will be posted:  Please notice me, senpai!

Check out my writing blog where all of my writings will be posted, not just Hunters:  You still haven’t noticed me, please notice me senpai!

Dreamspinner Daily Dose News!

brichibiwritesthings:

Wow!  Um… didn’t expect to actually get followers that fast, you guys are awesome!  Anyway, I wanted to share some news.  I may have mentioned it on my normal tumblr, but now I have a few more details.

I wrote a short story that’s going to be featured in an upcoming Daily Dose for Dreamspinner, a really cool gay romance publisher.  It should be out in June  :)  The way a Daily Dose works, from my understanding, is that there’s a story for every day of the month.  You can either purchase the entire set of stories, or just purchase one or a few, whatever you want (I’ll of course post links when it’s available).

This is a great lesson in thinking outside the box.  The prompt was something sports themed, so I decided to write a story that involved video game tournaments  ^^  Because, you know, those tournaments are serious business.  That isn’t sarcasm, mind you, I really mean it.  They ARE serious business.  Thousands of people competing, the amount of training that goes into it: learning a character’s techniques, combos, flaws and strengths, how to fight against others… and you can’t possibly predict how other players will go into a match.  I couldn’t help but make the “sports” comparison, so that’s what I did.

I enjoy video games, I always have since I was about 6.  This was back in the 80s, so video games were still this sort of newish thing.  They’ve come a very, very long way, and sometimes I have this cool feeling of having seen them, well… grow up?  We’ve come a long way from classic Nintendo, Mario, and Duck Hunt.  The whole “sports theme” idea got me thinking about video games because there’s people who still see them as this huge waste of time.  There’s still this awful stigma with them that is completely untrue.  I really do see them as offering the same entertainment value as like, sports, and movies, and books, and all that stuff.  There’s just as much work that goes into them, and people get just as involved — and there’s nothing wrong with that :)

Today I finished my biography for Dreamspinner, so this really is going to happen!  I’ve never worked with a publisher before, so this is a good learning experience.  I do plan on writing more things to try and get published with them, because I really like how their team works.  They seem very patient, and encouraging (I’ve submitted a few times last year but nothing made the cut, but they were always encouraging in wanting me to keep trying, and were actually willing to go through what could be improved).  So, come June, I’ll have a geeky, gay romance story out there.  I hope you guys are looking forward to it  :)

News from my writing blog  ^^

brichibiwritesthings:

So this is my writing blog!  I will be posting snippets of things I am working on/general ideas I have/things I have written, whatever comes to mind.  I will reblog things from the Hunters blog too, I just wanted my own personal writing blog since the Hunters is a joint story, so it felt weird posting random writings too.

Please, enjoy your time here  :)

So this will be my writing blog, please follow it for more of my writings  :)  I’m thinking of moving headcanon writings and things there too, and just making a separate page for Fandom things and Original things, but we’ll see.  If you were following Hunters, awesome!  There will be some of that too (aka me reblogging it) but this blog is/will be ALL of my writings, not just Hunters  ^^

Hmmmmmmmm

So I’m wondering if I should like, make another separate blog, for original writing things and not just Hunters?  Like I’m writing this biography for Dreamspinner and so many of the authors seem to have writing blogs?  Should I?  I mean I would probably post snippets like Hunters, except it would just be my thoughts and ideas, because I do have a lot of random ideas for my own stories.

Hmmm… they don’t need my bio until Monday, that’s certainly enough time to make a new page…

Thoughts?

[Fic] Fading Lights 2/?

brichibi:

So naotodayo keeps drawing awesome fanart for this fic I teased at, so I should actually, you know, start it?

Plot:  In which Naoto Shirogane is a male pop-star with a secret no one sees coming, and Kanji Tatsumi is isn’t a big fan of him.

Warnings:  Overall — AU (but the same “finding your true self” theme will apply, completely with dungeons and shadows)For this chapter — one sided Kanji/Naoto, NSFW, masturbation, fantasizing.

Notes:  For the purposes of this fic Naoto is referred to as a male for a good portion of it.  Also, it might not go through the entire game, but I at least plan on making it to Naoto’s shadow.  It starts with Kanji’s arc and progresses from there.

Headcanon: The kisses of the seasons

Oh my word I’ve finally done it.  I wrote something for Rise of the Guardians.  As much as I spaz about it I didn’t think I’d actually write up something, lol, but here it is!  Down the rabbit hole I go.

… I didn’t mean for that to be a bad pun.

Warnings:  Not much.  Jack and Bunny kissing.  That’s about it.

Notes:  Strange descriptions of things ahoy!

Teaser:  He’s all fun and games in the cold winter air, dingy blue hoodies and a lack of shoes despite the snow’s cold embrace.

[AGGRESSIVELY PROCRASTINATES FOR THREE HOURS ON SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FINISHED IN 30 MINUTES]

*looks at the final chapter to current gay romance story*

… yeah sorry about that, I just really had to check tumblr again, you know, just to make sure it was still there.  It is, by the way, just so you know.

Someone wants to publish my book.  Someone wants to publish “Treat Me Kindly."  I just got the email.  Just now.

I…

I feel like my heart just stopped.

Guys… I’m going to have a book.  Of my story.  With my name on the cover.

I…

I can’t even begin to express how I feel right now.
