So I woke up to see that the ridiculously talented Sarah Fong is at a con, rockin’ out the Naoto hat she got from our Etsy shop! Kyah it looks so great! What a perfect Naoto <3
So we’ve decided to list the hat again. The reason why it doesn’t stay on the shop is because it’s actually our best selling product (though the Phoenix Wright hat is catching up!) There is a bit of a wait, but if you need it sooner you can let us know. And if it’s not on the site and it’s sold out, message us anyway to see if something can be worked out :)

Check out my friend Sarah, aka Naoto Shirogane, aka “that one friend we always crush on because they’re so pretty.” Seriously though, I love that she’s essentially been going through all of Naoto’s costumes, it’s a daunting task with Persona 4 Golden but she does a great time every time!
I would be so happy if you got to go to ACEN. I have such wonderful ideas of us hanging out and having Chicago pizza and having fun and gushing about Naoto and things (though in reality we'd probably be really busy with you doing your GeekLurv thing and me doing artist alley but still we'd at least say hi and maybe hug and say we love Naoto before parting ways).

Actually I don’t think GeekLurv is intending on running tables/events outside of TX area conventions — so I’d literally just be doing promo work by walking around and handing out business cards. So I’m sure we could hang out some :)
ACEn isn’t a for-sure thing ATM, it was more like…up for discussion last I heard. They need to lock it down and I need to make sure I can get off for school and stuff.
I hope this is a thing that happens :) It would be so awesome to meet Naoto Shirogane… urm, Sarah Fong. Same thing, right?

Im also not THAT successful or good considering I’ve been doing this like 10 years lol. Though I haven’t been doing it aggressively until the last year.
Yes this. Don’t get discouraged about cosplaying a character because someone else does it and you think “they did it so much better than me.” Don’t get discouraged because someone is more “successful.” Cosplay is about having fun, and like Sarah says, there’s no rule that says “there can be only one” cosplayer for a character or for anything.
Also, if you DO want to become “popular” or “successful” with cosplay, you do have to put yourself out there. You do have to try. You can’t just say, “Nope not gonna do it,” because you see someone else doing a cosplay you want to do and they have a lot of likes. Cosplay is about emulating the character you like, and 99.9 percent of the time you aren’t the only person who likes that character, so there will be other cosplayers.
For example, I love Tiana. There are a bunch of Tiana cosplayers who I think do an amazing job. Better than me, even. They’re beautiful, they’re skinny, their make up is better, whatever reason. But hey, I love Tiana, I love cosplaying Tiana, and I love the dress my wifey made for me. So I’m going to wear it, and be the best Tiana I can be. I’m not going to be discouraged because someone else does it.
So all and all, just… cosplay who you want, and have fun with it :)

I understand I have other stuff I could be doing now but…I couldn’t resist. :P I threw on Chris’ Narukami wig and tossled it a bit and pinned the sweater. Ahuuuue.
And I’ll be 100x more dapper when I actually get around to working on it/finishing it. I didn’t even put any makeup and shit on.

For those who haven’t ordered from me before, the purchase is for a 5x7 glossy postcard print with an insignia on the front and a message of your choice filling up the back. If you don’t leave me specifics as to the message/drawing you want on the back, then I’ll come up with something of my own just for you! I have 25 of each, first come first serve. All postcards come shipped in an envelope so as to provide some extra level of protection.

So the Naoto cosplayer I gush about is doing more postcards of more characters. Her cosplay is amazing and she personally signs the postcards and will write you a nifty message. She’s a great lady and does such good work! She even drew a doodle on my Naoto card ^^
