The Inner Workings of a Chibi.

But then.

It happens.

Exactly one week later, when Izuku sees Bakugou, grabbing his mail like he always does, he says a cheerful greeting of, “Morning Kacchan!”

Bakugou must be channeling Kaminari because his brain goes on the fritz. “W-what?”

“O-oh! I… sorry, I’m sorry about that! Just… I-I dunno, it just came out, I’m really sorry!”

Bakugou watches the smaller young man rush back to his house, slamming the door shut behind him.

Well.

“Fuck.”

Teaser to You Think We Need One More Chapter 3: Going Slow Is For Turtles and Snails and Well… F*ck

(aka: the OT4 summer romcom where Bakugou, Kirishima, and Kaminari are neighborly neighbors who wanna invite Izuku Midoriya over for ridiculous amounts of sex tea or some shit what do neighbors even do?)

But he’d panicked. Badly. He’d felt like he’d been drowning, caught in a net underwater with no hope of reaching the surface. He’d told himself to wave his hand at the crew to get them to release him, but he ended up trying to dig his fingers into the sludge in an attempt to remove it.

Made for a great shot, though. He remembers hearing someone say that it looked believable, like wow, that kid’s really gonna die.

Izuku didn’t have a way to nod his head, to say yes, I feel like I’m dying! But the real morbid thing is that he’s not sure if he would’ve said anything at all had he been able to talk. It was a good shot, perfect for All Might’s grand entrance and iconic Texas Smash. It’d be the first time seeing him in action after years of retirement so the scene had to be perfect. Yagi Toshinori was coming to rescue him of all people. After all the auditions, all the failures and frozen dinners, all the calls to his mother full of lies and false hope… Izuku Midoriya was here.

So Izuku forced himself to hold out for a little longer. Even if his throat burned. Even if his heart slowed to move at an unsteady crawl. Even if his eyes released real, genuine tears of absolute fear.

Somebody.

H-help…

Teaser for Lights. Camera. Hero! Chapter 4: You Say Run! The Birth Of A Hero, The Start Of A Duo

(aka: my crazy My Hero Academia AU where the whole show is a television show and all the characters are actors/actresses)

Everything that happened after that felt like someone had hit the fast-forward button. The monster shouted at Lonnie, the force coming out in a destructive wave that shattered everything in its path. Lonnie jumped out of the way, then dodged another attack, and another, making it look as easy as playing a game of hopscotch. As soon as she got close to the monster she jammed her knee into its stomach. The monster stumbled back and let out a harsh cough, but Lonnie didn’t give it a chance to recover. One punch to the face, followed by a second, and a third, all Marianna and Bree could do was stare as Lonnie continued to hit her opponent so hard that they could hear her fists crunching into its skin. Finally, Lonnie landed a swift kick across the monster’s cheek, the power in her kick so hard that the creature was knocked out cold immediately.

“Holy shit,” Bree whispered. The creature’s face was now bruised beyond recognition, and it didn’t look like it was going to get up anytime soon. She’d never actually seen one of the monsters lay lifelessly on the ground — Marianna’s acidic frosting always made quick work of them. But there it was, mouth wide open, stomach caved in from the crushing blow from earlier. Marianna looked just as bewildered as Bree, but neither girl had time to dwell on the monster in front of them. Dana was already up cheering for Lonnie, and everyone who had gone inside of the store was stepping outside to see the aftermath of the one-sided battle. The rest of the crowd joined Dana in cheering for Lonnie, who stood there and smiled an embarrassed little smile. Both Marianna and Bree looked at each other and quietly wondered the same thing.

Had Blaze sent in a new magical girl?

[Book Snippet] magnifiqueNOIR episode 8: Fit Right In

And Lonnie thought coming out had been difficult.

Though, to be fair, she hadn’t done that on her own terms. Having such a large family meant that it was damn near impossible to keep any secrets. One of her cousins had told another cousin who told the third one, who then proceeded to spread the word to the fourth one and the fourth one’s much chattier sister, who then blurted it out during one of Penny Knox’s patented Sunday dinners.

By then, the story had morphed into an otherworldly being where Lonnie had gone from holding a girl’s hand on the way to school to having a full-blown make-out session in the locker room of her eighth-grade gym class. A mortified Lonnie had no choice but to tell the true story and reveal her feelings for the cute girl in her class, and she swore that no junior high make-out session had happened. She should’ve ratted out her pimple-faced cousin, who she’d seen kissing a boy – tongue and all – but Lonnie had been too busy worrying about her Grand-Penny’s reaction to her liking girls that way. She’d expected some tears and some, “Where did I go wrong in raising you,” but, to her surprise, her grandmother told her cousin off for sticking her nose in other people’s business.

“And I know damn well yo’ fast ass be out there with them little boys,” which had proven that Penny Knox was, in fact, a mutant fresh out of Xavier’s School of the Gifted – a reference Lonnie held dear because her crush had a thing for Storm.

Sometimes we come out of the closet.

Sometimes, there was never a closet to begin with.

And other times… we get an unwanted push.

Don’t be like Lonnie’s cousins.

NaNoWriMo snippet

It must’ve been written in some Old World Testament: when you’re anxious for school to be over, time decides to take a personal call and ignore the growing line of customers. The slowdown doubled on Fridays, and tripled if the sun was beaming into the classroom to tease the students. “You could be out here right now if it weren’t for Mr. Stewart’s lecture.”

Brylie wondered if she could double check Grandmama’s Bible for confirmation in regards to the Testament and its opinion on school and Friday afternoons. Could she flip through the pages and see that Psalm number something or rather did, in fact, state that school had to take its time ending when the weekend was near? Then again, the elderly woman owned the New Testament – King James and all that – so the old rule may have been lost in translation. Besides, Brylie didn’t want to go anywhere near Grandmama’s drawer of religion, otherwise, she’d be roped into putting on her Sunday best and sitting in the Lord’s house for hours on end. The old woman would probably want her to wear that floral print dress she had gotten her for Christmas last year, complete with perfectly white tights covering her dark skin. Then she’d insist that she put a bow in her hair, probably tell her to straighten it so it didn’t look so wild. Someday Grandmama would realize that Brylie had outgrown the “Just For Me” perm kit and sunflower dress look years ago. She was sixteen now, for Christ’s sake.

Here’s a preview to the first chapter of “Seeking the Storyteller,” the first book in the “Hunters” series.  It’s not edited yet, because the editing process hasn’t started with our new editor yet, but this will give you an idea of what kind of book it is.  If you’re into modern day supernatural adventure stories, this would be perfect for you  :)

“Maybe he’s right.  Maybe I am the cause of this.  Maybe you were normal before meeting me.”

Gable Peterson isn’t the type to get into fights.

He’s had disagreements with people, yes, but it has never reached the point of needing to ball his fists to defend himself.  The closest he’s come to violence is his father’s hunting.  The older man has taken him out a few times and Gable has held a gun, however, he’s never had the urge to fire it.

Gable Peterson is also one of those lucky, gay kids who doesn’t have a tragic back story.  He was never bullied, never hated, and though he knows that he was never completely “out of the closet” he’s seen with his own eyes his parent’s acceptance, once upon a dream.  He’s had his parents sit next to him and offer their support regarding Avery’s disappearance, has had his mother wag her finger at him for not telling her sooner.  She’s expressed disappointment about not being able to make his boyfriend a home cooked meal, already creating a menu in her mind in regards to what she should cook.

Gable’s heard stories of boys like him being beaten up, or made fun of, for “being different.”  He knows there’s organizations on campus that offer nothing but support and kindness, knows there’s “Safe Zones” and he knows that It Gets Better.

Despite the number of times he’s gone through this nightmare, he – foolishly – never once thought that he would play the part of the victim.

It looks like my next book will be out right on schedule: November 1st! I’ll have links to where it can be purchased when I get them. It’s my very first gay romance novel, but you all know me, the “romance” part has to be complicated in a weird, supernatural, nightmare inducing way ^^

Here’s some news about my next book.  It looks like it’ll be ready right on schedule!  Before release I’m looking for reviewers of the book, so if anyone knows any places I should try (or if you’re a reviewer yourself) let me know, my publisher gives me free electronic copies to distribute to reviewers.  Reviews would be wonderful to have on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, and personal blogs.

To my new followers, I have a writing blog you can follow to keep up with my writing  :)

Another piece of art we got from Meta con 2013.

This piece was done by the awesome munny artist at the table next to us http://arc-onic.deviantart.com/

The hunter watched as the shadows pulled back like a receding wave of dark black. A figure stepped out of the shadows, the waves parting for him like a curtain. Its feet were silent against the uneven concrete, gently touching the floor like a trained dancer. It was tall and skinny, the type of thinness that reminded Alix of news reports of war torn countries where the people looked like they never ate. Despite its malnourished appearance no bones showed through his skin, but the texture of its flesh almost looked like a frozen liquid, small ripples flowing down its arms and chest. Its skin was a color similar to runny ink pens, the black seeming to bleed into the concrete. Its eyes were hollow, missing pupils, and deep like endless black holes that made Alix wonder how the creature could see in front of him.

In contrast to its creepy, elongated features two large ears flapped down around its head, giving the creature a strange resemblance of a playful puppy, something that could be trusted — but Alix knew better. To think that creatures like this shadow dog — the closest thing that Alix could associate the demon with — sparked nightmarish stories of demons and other religious fodder was laughable. What stood in front of him now certainly didn’t look like the demons the rest of the human world was so familiar with. In fact, there was a good portion of them that probably would have thought that this inhuman thing was, dare he say, cute, something to keep as a pet and make do tricks for spoiled little children.

Alix was disgusted by the thought.

Meet Dox, one of the creatures from “Seeking the Storyteller.” This first upcoming book is part of the “Hunters” series by myself and my wifey.

More book stuff!  Get excited, it’s coming soon!

Original Story: First Date 1/?

brichibiwritesthings:

So my wifey has come up with a rather interesting way to get people excited for our books: write little side stories to them.  The side stories let you get to know the characters before the release of the book and serve as little prequels to the book.  These side stories are FREE TO READ, and will be posted on our writing blogs and whatnot.  Perhaps someday we’ll look at getting them available for e-readers?

“Double Hue,” is an upcoming supernatural gay romance thriller I have coming out.  It’s set for November.  However, before November comes, you can read these stories about the characters in the book.  Gable Peterson is the lead character and has been with his boyfriend, Avery Blair, for 4 years.  One day, Gable gets devastating news that Avery is dead.  Unbeknownst to Gable, he has a unique ability where he can go back in time.  He’s able to go back to the beginning of the week and try and prevent Avery’s death from happening.

Of course, it’s never that easy.

Before the thriller is released, check out this first of (hopefully) several side stories.  ”First Date” is the story of Gable and Avery’s first date, and how they started at a couple.  They’re both college students at the U of M, and Avery has a tendency to fall asleep in class ^^

Warnings for this part:  Semi NSFW, M/M romance

A prequel/teaser to my upcoming book “Double Hue.”  I will be writing these little teasers that lead up to the book, which should be released in November.  These are free to read and will just be posted here (my publisher liked this idea a lot so I’m going for it ^^)

If you can think of other places where I can post this to get people excited for the book release, let me know  :)  I’ve thought of “Fiction Press” so far, since they do original fiction.

As always, check out my writing on my writing blog AND my Facebook author page.  Actually website coming soon  :)
