New set of coasters done! The leaders, the cuties, and the tough girls in Lauren Faust’s world. A fun combination of My Little Pony, Powerpuff Girls, and Super Best Friends Forever :)
I was going to wait until more of them were done, but the Fortune one has been most troublesome and I’m happy that it’s done! So here’s a picture of it! And here’s a picture with the Emperor because Kanji and Naoto 5eva!
O.K. Phew. Here we go.
The giant arcana coaster project that I never intended to be a project, lol! The first two rows are the finished ones that are woodburned and ready to go. The next two rows are the ones I have sketched so that I can woodburn them.
From what I can gather (including Golden and P3 and such) there are… 25 cards? (please correct me if I’m wrong) I know Golden has 2 for Adachi, 1 for Marie, that adds to the standard social links. And P3 has “the World” or “the Universe” and whatnot.
So at the moment there are 7 complete, 8 sketched, which leaves 10 more to go. I do plan on selling these individually, mostly because I don’t think anyone would buy a full set, BUT I DO want to have ALL of them available before I start posting them on the store/taking it to conventions.
From a Persona 4 standpoint (since that’s my current SMT obsession though EVERYONE knows that) so far the major characters are done/in-progress (Souji/Yu, Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, Rise, Teddie, Naoto, Dojima, Nanako, Adachi – times 2, Margaret, Marie, and the entire Investigation Team – judgment, or “Seekers of Truth,” if you will). I’m not sure how long this is going to take, but our first convention is Anime Detour and I’d like to have them there?
Fun fact: So far the ones that have been the most troublesome are Chie, Naoto, and Adachi (Hunger/Lust), but mainly Chie and Naoto, because of the crazy details.

Somehow I just now discovered Young Justice (or rather, just watched it, I knew of its existence) 2 episodes in and it’s clear to me that I have to make a coaster set with the team.

Superboy is already sketched and ready to be woodburned, I still need to sketch the rest of the team :)

7! Now I have 7 burned and finished! I have 5 more sketched out which will make 12, but I plan on attempting to make the ENTIRE ARCANA SET! These are for sale and will be sold individually… unless if someone is crazy enough to order the entire thing (including the extra links, like Marie, and Adachi).
So there’s… 20 altogether, plus 3 more because of Golden? (though isn’t Aigis in the Aeon arcana too, not just Marie?) Whatever the case, there will be 23 coasters. I can’t decide if I want to post them on sale now or when the entire thing is finished, though who knows when it’ll all be finished since I ABSOLUTELY NEED to take breaks in between ^^;;;
Headcanon: In which I complain about crafts
Why is Naoto so difficult I mean…
She’s difficult to use in Arena.
She’s difficult to love on if your name is Kanji.
Now her tarot card is difficult to sketch so I can burn it like the others I did here.
Just… why Naoto baby, why?
I mean Rise didn’t make things hard, neither did Margaret (the two newest ones I have sketched). I just… I loved you, Naoto, we could’ve had it aaaaaaall!
Since everyone seems to like the woodburned tarot cards (thanks for the love btw!), I thought it would be cool to show the starting point. I sketch the image on the wood with a pencil before burning it, so it basically… looks pretty plain ^^;;;
I’ve been woodburning for like… two years now, I think? I saw some really ridiculous amazing burnings at a convention once and one day, while on the way to the craft store, I thought, “I wonder if they have a woodburner.” I figured that the method had to be something like, sketching the image then just burning it on there. Over the years I started figuring out ways to do shading, how to make it darker or lighter depending on how much pressure I was applying, stuff like that.
Come to find out there’s burners you can buy with settings that change the heat, lol! ^^;;;
So we all know how I feel about marriage equality, you know, since I’ve been with the same girl for 11 years. I wanted to make something that shows my support. And thus, this coaster was born :)
I’d love to do this to other anime/video game/awesome geeky characters, I just need ideas. For now, Grell seemed like a most excellent choice. Grell is woodburned onto the coaster, hair and glasses painted, along with the tape and the “8” in “NO H8.”

I’ve been woodburning all day, I figured I would show off some of the new things I’ve made. It’s time for Persona tarot cards! I’m not sure if I’ll get through ALL of the arcana (especially since some of the designs intimidate me), but I’ll do my best!
Here we have the Fool, the Magician, and the Emperor. Sometimes, I paint parts of my woodburnings, but I’m not going to do that at all with these and sort of let the shading and the wood speak for itself?

Captain America appreciation post! (including one parody coaster of if Mario were Captain America, har har ^^) Most of these items (the clock and shield most definitely) are available for purchase, while the coasters can be requested to be made.
