So I’ve been submitting small short story things to Dreamspinner Press for the gay romance side of me to be published. Last year, nothing I submitted quite made the cut, but they’re really encouraging and told me to keep trying. This morning, I got an email saying that they want to include the latest thing I submitted in an upcoming anthology. So… a short story of mine is about to get published in an anthology.
Excuse me while I SCREAM!!! That’s two positive publishing things this week! Let’s keep this up!
Here’s a little peak at part of the first chapter. Now that Alix and his partner, Fagan, have to deal with a demon, they learn that explaining the basics of their world can be annoying and frustrating fun ^^
Warnings: Humorous character interactions
Notes: I think I’m going to stick with posting small little snippets and teasers instead of like, full chapters, just because I want to wet your whistle and make you interested in the story ^^
So that little snippet of a story I posted a little bit ago? We’ve been sending query letters to publishers. Well, “Hunters: Seeking the Storyteller” has officially gotten it’s first positive response, as a publisher has requested more :)
And now…. I am SPAZZING! SPAZ!!!!!!!
I feel like there’s a lot of pressure to make a good Kanji and Naoto headcanon today. I had an idea of like, crazy into Valentine’s Day Kanji, but realized that it’s reversed in Japan so that would have to be for White Day? I guess?
That, and I thought of something else that might be a tad bit sweeter? I hope? Anyhow, Happy day of chocolates and things :)
Warnings: Sap, older Kanji and Naoto
So someone told me today, that they don’t like Kanji and Naoto as a pairing, but they like my writing. And like… I just think that’s an amazing compliment, and it made my writing heart go pitter-patter.
Thank you, kind person, thank you :)
Though I was at work when I saw this comment and couldn’t stop smiling, so I was hoping that no one wandered over like, “Hey Bri why ya smilin’ so much?” Because trying to explain that you’re smiling because someone likes your writing for two fictional characters even if they don’t like those two fictional characters together… then explaining that yes you write two fictional characters together… yeah… though that one girl in the office did bring up fanfiction, so that’s cool yeah?
Summary: Which is easier? A girl me, or a boy me?
Warnings: AUish (probably more warnings along the way)
Pairings: Kanji and Naoto, for sure, possibly more on the way.
Notes: So if Naoto were an idol, with all the same issues that comes along with being Naoto Shirogane, how differently would things play out?
So I have this really weird idea that won’t probably be written anytime soon – or maybe it will, who knows, maybe work will calm down after the ridiculously busy weekend.
I’ve always had this random Persona 4 idea of, “What if the characters were switched?” As in, not the characters themselves, but who they are in the game. For example (which is one of the main ideas of the fic), what if Naoto were the popstar instead of Rise?
More behind the cut, and still a Kanji and Naoto story, just with a popstar! Naoto. Warning, spoilers to the game and weirdness ahoy!
Is there a way to copy and paste text on tumblr and keep the italics and things without having to go in and fix it? Every time I copy and paste something from like google.docs, or even just wordpad, tumblr never keeps the italics and things and I have to go in and fix it. It makes it kind of tedious in posting original stories that are already finished.
Am I doing something wrong?
All right, first of all, thanks for even showing interest in this ^^;;; Second of all, this is one of many stories I’m doing, so I’ll probably post other things later. I also have a finished story too that I’m trying to get published, two in progress (jeez), but the one I’m posting now means a lot to me for many reasons.
My partner and I use to roleplay (still do) back when we lived in separated states. We’d use anime characters and it was a mix of a bunch of different series. But then, over the years, those characters started to change, and we started coming up with our own stories, then we said, “… maybe we should write this out.”
So we did :)
This is the first book in a planned series of seven. It takes place in current day Minneapolis/St Paul (which we decided to do just a few months ago, we drove around the city looking at places for scenes and everything).
Quick Summary: Alix Andre DeBenit has been hunting demons ever since his fiance was killed by a strange fire that erupted in the city years ago. Partnering with Hunter veteran Randall Fagan, the two are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to hunting down these monstrous creatures. However, Alix comes across one demon that can change his life forever.
Dox is a living shadow called a lurk and is far more intelligent than any demon Alix and Fagan have ever faced. In exchange for his life, Dox tells Alix that he can take him to a creature called the Storyteller. It is said that the Storyteller has the power to change things. He lives in a room full of books, each book representing the life of every human, demon, and whatever lies in between. The Storyteller has the power to change someone’s story, something that Alix has wanted ever since his fiance died. So Alix begins an uneasy alliance with the demon.
Only to run into a whole mess of troubles along the way.
Extra Notes: That’s the gist of the story, there’s a whole lot more but don’t want to spoil anything, of course. I’m posting the first chapter. This is by me and snowtigra, she would write it out, then I would go in and edit/add any extra details. I hope it intrigues you for now!
